General Questions

Q.....Where do you shoot pictures?

A.....Both in our studio and on location. The weather is a big factor.

Q.....Can I pick whether to shoot in the studio or on location (or both?)

A.....Sure! We'll discuss your ideas for a shoot and determine which is better.

Q.....Can I meet with you before the shoot to discuss options?

A.....Not only can you, it's very much recommended. It's a great ice-breaker and it helps us to know in advance what ideas and goals you have for the shoot.

Q.....I live in Distantville. Can we arrange everything on the phone?

A.....Sure. The "meeting" discussed above doesn't need to be in-person to be effective.

Q.....Does the pre-shoot meeting cost anything?

A.....Just a little of your time! It is, however, a great time to pay your deposit :)

Q.....Who chooses the locations?

A.....Generally, we do. They're usually in/around greater Indianapolis. If you have an idea, let us know!

Q.....Do we pay a deposit or percentage upfront?

A.....Yes, and it's non-refundable. Review the Products/Pricing page for more info.

Q.....What forms of payment do you accept?

A.....Cash, check or credit card. If you make really good peanut butter fudge, we might negotiate (solely at our discretion :)

Q.....I'm not a model - I just want pictures! Can you work with me?

A.....Absolutely. You just described 80% of our customers.

Q.....I don't have a clue how to pose for a photographer. Can you help me?

A.....Indeed we can! Again, you just described 80% of our customers.

Q.....Do I have to create a model portfolio or want to be a model to shoot with you?

A.....Definitely not. Most people come to us for pictures for their own use.

Q.....I want to be a model. Can you provide a portfolio book for my prints?

A.....We can provide books from $20 to $200, or give you retail sources where you can buy your own.

Q.....Can I bring my own clothes and props?

A.....Absolutely! We prefer to shoot clothes and props that we haven't seen before.

Q.....If I change clothes, is that another category charge?

A.....In most cases, the answer is yes. If you take something off, and something new replaces it, that's another category charge (excluding shoes/boots.)

Q.....Can I get something that's not listed as a category choice?

A.....Most likely. The things listed are the most common but not all we do.

Q.....Can I bring someone with me to my photo shoot?

A.....Not only can you, we recommend it! Ask for more details.

Q.....Will my images appear on your website?

A.....It's entirely up to you. If you want us to consider them, you'll need to sign a release.

Q.....What if I don't like the results of my photo shoot?

A.....We'll re-shoot any category if the displeasure is something we can fix.

Q.....Should I go tanning before my photo shoot?

A.....Probably not. The horror stories we can tell about people who did........

Q.....Do you provide hair and makeup services?

A.....Yes. They are independent contractors who work with us. Call for details.

Q.....Can I do my own hair/makeup or bring someone to do it for me?

A.....Absolutely. Many people choose to do their own.

Q.....Should makeup be done differently for a photo shoot?

A.....Not usually. This is a common misconception. Makeup should match the wardrobe and look or theme but should not be overdone.

Q.....How long does it take to get my pictures or a CD?

A.....About 10 days for prints (and composites) and 3-5 days for a CD. All must be prepaid.

Q.....Can you make a composite card from pictures I already have?

A.....It's possible. Call for details and limitations.

Q.....Can I schedule a photo shoot for someone else?

A.....Only if they're under 18 and you're their legal guardian.

Women

Q.....What wardrobe do you offer?

A.....If you're size 00 to size 5, we have $30k worth of dresses, casual, lingerie, shoes, costumes, etc.

Q.....Can you help me find work as a model?

A.....It's possible. We provide images to Indiana's largest promo/print agency that has mostly work for women.

Q.....I'm doing this for my husband/boyfriend. Any suggestions?

A.....Getting the images on a CD, rather than prints (or just a few prints), is very popular in this situation. We can build a slide-show on the CD if you want.

Q.....I could lose a little weight. Do heavier women come to you for photo shoots?

A.....All the time. Some of the best natural posing subjects we work with are plus-size women.

Q.....I have some pretty bad stretch marks. Can you do anything for me?

A.....Today's image editing tools make such things irrelevant. You can choose to leave them as they are or remove them completely.

Q.....I'm 37 years old. Do women my age still have photo shoots?

A.....Actually, it's very common. 20th anniversaries, his 40th birthday present, etc.

Q.....What's the difference between Implied Nude & Nude?

A.....There is an effort made to cover or mask parts of the body in implied nude images. Compared to posing completely nude, it is a very popular category.

Q.....If I take my top off during a swimwear shoot, is that two category charges?

A.....In most cases, the answer is no. The same goes for taking your top off during a casual category shoot with blue jeans.

Q.....If I pose topless or nude, who will see the images?

A.....That's easy. You, the photographer, and whoever you show them to. It would be the same answer for any category.

Q.....Can I get more "hardcore" nude images?

A.....No. Playboy-style nudes are both our interest and our limit.

Men

Q.....Can you help me find work as a model?

A.....It's possible, but there are fewer opportunities for men in Indiana than for women.

Q.....Do you offer men's wardrobe?

A.....No. Men's wardrobe is much more body specific than women's. Dresses, skirts, etc. are easily worn by many different women, for example.

Q.....Can men pose nude?

A.....The usual answer is no. It could be possible posing with a female in the couples category. Call for more info and limitations.

Kids

Q.....I have 3 children. Can you work with all three at the same time?

A.....Noooo! It threatens our sanity. We can shoot with up to 2 kids at a time.

Q.....Can you help get my child involved with an agency?

A.....Yes, with an asterisk. As with men, there's a limited market for kids in Indiana. A lot of it also depends on their personality.

Q.....Can I bring children with me to the shoot who are not part of the shoot?

A.....Noooo! That threatens our sanity too. Anyone under age 16 must be participating.

Q.....Can my neighbor bring my child to the shoot?

A.....No. Any child in our studio must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Q.....How old does my child have to be?

A.....At least one year old. They also need to have enough animation to make a photo shoot realistic.

Q.....How old is too old for a kid's shoot?

A.....Generally, kids in our studio are age 15 and under.

Q.....My son is age 16 and my daughter is 17. What options do they have?

A.....Your son can fully participate in an adult men's shoot. Your daughter's adult categories would be limited.

Q.....What wardrobe options do kids have?

A.....Anything that's age appropriate. 15 year-old girls, for example, don't shoot in lingerie. Swimwear, however, would be very common.

Q.....Do you have wardrobe for kids?

A.....Very little at this time. Photography for kids is our newest offering and our wardrobe stock is growing.

Friends/Couples

Q.....How old does someone have to be?

A.....Humans must be age 18+. Man's best friend can be any age.

Q.....How many people can pose together?

A.....A maximum of 3 subjects. 2 people and a dog would be 3 subjects.

Q.....Do you have wardrobe that matches?

A.....We do for women in sizes 00 to 5.

Q.....I'm a female and I want to pose with my female friend. Is this common?

A.....Very common. It's especially popular with women age 18-24.

Q.....I want to pose with my boyfriend. How "steamy" can it be?

A.....Not very. Playful..yes. Teasing..yes. Steamy..no. Nothing that even remotely resembles sexual activity is allowed.

Q.....Can subjects be nude?

A.....Not usually. There are some limited exceptions. Dogs, for example, can be nude without restrictions :)
